MaayanCorp is named after the Mayan civilization. They built a calendar precise enough to predict solar cycles centuries in advance. We think appointment software should meet a similar standard: reliable, accurate, and fair.
The Journey
The Mayan people built one of the most precise calendars in human history. Without computers, without satellites, they tracked solar cycles, lunar phases, and celestial events across centuries. They understood something most civilizations missed: time is not just a resource. It is a system. And systems deserve to be built carefully.
When I was naming this product, that stuck with me. A barber shop runs on time. Every appointment is a block. Every no-show is a gap. The name Maayan felt right for a tool that treats scheduling as something worth getting exactly right.
A friend of mine runs a barber shop. I helped her shop for booking software. Every option cost $50 to $80 per month. Most of that price came from one feature: SMS reminders. She did not need SMS. She had regulars who already knew where to show up. She just wanted a clean way for new clients to book online.
We ended up with a spreadsheet.
I looked into it. Sending an SMS costs a few cents per message. Platforms charge $30 to $80 a month partly because reminders are the upsell anchor. Email reminders cost a fraction of that. There was no reason a shop owner should pay $600 a year just to manage appointments.
I spent six years building production software at companies in the Bay Area. I knew what it took to ship something real. MaayanCorp launched as a flat $25 per month tool: one account, unlimited barbers, unlimited locations. No SMS upsell. No tiered pricing. No feature gating. Just a booking tool that works.
If something breaks, I fix it. If you have a question, I answer it. There is no support team to route you through. MaayanCorp is a one-person product and I intend to keep it that way: accountable to every shop owner who trusts it.
